The structure is a concrete highway bridge connecting two islands.The bridge  is covered with solar panels to generate electricity,These solar panels are supported on a steel structure having an 'S' shaped elevation shape to ensure direct sunlight on solar panels.This unique elegant steel structure was originally designed by an Italian reputable firm.Our scope was to value engineer the steel structure and to check the safety of the existing concrete bridge and its pile foundations.

We were able to optimise the steel quantities by more than 40% after having several meetings and discussions with the original Italian designer and finally he approved our new optimum design.
