Nuwats tower is a commercial and residential building located at Doha Qatar. The building consists of two base-ments, Ground, parking, and twenty one typical floors. The basement floor area is 3600 m2.Basement floors are typically flat slabs while all other floors are post tensioned concrete slabs. The tower is supported on concrete columns and cores. Tower foundation is a reinforced concrete raft with depth ranging from (1000mm to 2100 mm).The tower was designed against gravity loads and, seismic and wind loads. Uplift forces were also investigat-ed due to the presence of underground water on construc-tion site. Temperature effect was taken into consideration for basements and ground floors as their typical plans were 61mX59m having no expansion joints,total Height of the building is 103mThe scope of work was to review the original design and perform value engineering for the tower.
