EL MAGHMAS INTERSECTION BRIDGE (KSA)

EL Maghmas Intersection Bridge is a 250 m long Twin Bridge passing over the east west Makah corridor. Each bridge is 11150 mm in width to accommodate two lanes and shoulders. The clear gap between the two bridges decks is 6150 mm, the concrete bridge deck is supported on longitudinal precast pretension (I) girders with depths (2000-1850 mm). The bridge maximum span is 26000 mm.The concrete (I) girders are supported on concrete piers through elastomeric bearings. The concrete piers consist of concrete cap beam supported on three circular concrete columns. Foundations are typically concrete raft supported on concrete piles.Ramps and approach slabs were designed as concrete slab on grade and mechanical stabilized Walls system was adopted to support soil pressure under ramps. Abutments are concrete Walls with double wing walls (U) shaped supported on concrete raft.
